Maccabi Health Services, the 2nd largest health fund in Israel launched a market leading mobile health application.

Maccabi Health Services, a national health fund serving more than 1.7 million customers wished to improve their reach by leveraging the mobile channel. Maccabi decided to offer their customers access to personal health records and administrative services from their mobile device dramatically improving the availability and convenience for those in need of healthcare.

After considering a number of mobile application vendors, they decided to move forward with Ideomobile on developing a mobile health application for a wide variety of mobile devices. The first iPhone application was launched in less than 60 days, followed by applications for feature phones and smartphones including S60, Blackberrys and Android. The applications includes secure access to personal health records including current and historical lab test results, prescriptions, appointments and more.

Israel Bank Discount launches first iPhone mobile banking application.

When Apple’s iPhone was launched in Israel in 2009, Israel Discount Bank set out to offer a rich mobile banking application for its customers. After working Ideomobile on developing a mobile banking application for featurephones, Ideomobile was tasked with developing the iPhone application in just 60 days.

The application was launched in time for the iPhone’s formal launch and has been one of the leading apps in the financial applications category of the appstore since. The application originally included statements for last transactions, term deposits, credit cards and stock portfolios but has since been improved to include the ability to issue and view transfers and buy and sell Israeli stocks, bonds, options and foreign stocks.

In addition, the application enables Leumi Card customers to access their credit card account to view transactions, monthly statements and a variety of self-service capabilities.

Ideomobile and Israel Discount Bank are continuing to develop the bank’s mobile channel and are adding additional functionality, features and device availability.

When Leumi Card, a subsidiary of Israel’s Leumi Bank, defined its mobile channel strategy they decided to focus on providing their customers with local offers and rewards for using Leumi Card’s credit cards.

The first iPhone application was launched in less than 90 days and includes local offers utilizing location based services for showing “offers near you”, augmented reality views and maps and directions on how to get to the vendor offering the offer.

In addition, the application enables Leumi Card customers to access their credit card account to view transactions, monthly statements and a variety of self-service capabilities.

The application has lead the local appstore and was even mentioned in Apple’s top picks. Reviews and downloads show promise and vendors claim higher conversion and visibility to offers.

The project was launched on the Android Market and through the bank’s web site and will soon be joined by additional platform offerings.
